HOW TO GET HERE There are several major airlines flying to Providenciales (PLX). American Air, West Jet, Delta Airlines, US Air, Air Canada, and British Airways . Salt Cay airport code is SLX.
Once you get to Provo (Providenciales), you can take an island hopper on Caicos Express or Air Turks Caicos or charter Global Airlines for a short 25 minute flight. Both Caicos Express and Air Turks Caicos offer good connecting flights with all major airlines. Best travel days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday although other schedules can be accommodated.
The Salt Cay Government Boat goes to Grand Turks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
There is also a 5 min flight to Salt Cay from Grand Turk Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Visitors from Canada may enter without a passport, if they have an original birth certificate (or, a notarized copy) and a photo id (e.g.. Driver's License). Visitors from other countries do require passports, but no visas are necessary except from countries of the former Eastern Bloc. What to Bring Salt Cay is laid back and informal... you'll need sunscreen, your dive, snorkeling or fishing gear, books (the Balfour Town Public Library does loan books to visitors), a couple of bathing suits, a hat, shirts and shorts. Bring sturdy shoes and long pants if you plan to hike in the bush. There are three small stores on the island that can supply you with juice, coffee, water, eggs, potatoes, canned goods, chicken, hot dogs, etc. or plan a shopping trip to Grand Turk on the Government Boat to pick up other goods. |
